Our Mission is to empower farmworkers and Latinx working families by building community, increasing representation in elections, and systems change at the state and national levels. We’re Oregon’s farmworker union, and we value the ability of workers to take action to end exploitation and all the effects that come with that. The heart of our work is organizing, and we organize around workplace issues, candidates, community, and elections through an integrated system of organizations that are Oregon’s farmworker and Latinx movement.

The Membership Manager is responsible for recruiting new members and retaining existing ones. They develop and lead membership drives, plan member events, and create and implement outreach strategies to expand a PCUN membership base or engage with existing members. They will oversee membership drives, including walk-ins at the farmworker service center, direct mail, or social media, and work to increase members’ involvement. They will maintain a membership database, write promotional materials, design membership benefits, observe and analyze member trends and feedback, and communicate with members.

Summary of responsibilities:
•Supervise a team of organizers, ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual organizing goals are met during weekly check-ins and hold organizers accountable as needed.
•Implement outreach tactics. Co-coordinate all phone bank outreach for the organization with the Outreach Manager, including base-building, testimony collection, membership meetings, events, and actions.
Maintaining oversight of contact attempts;
Creating phone bank lists;
Re-engaging older contacts;
Ensuring contacts are not over-contacted.
•Builds phone bank scripts for outreach, engagement, cultivation, and mobilization activities.
•Coordinates opportunities for member engagement and mobilization on advocacy and electoral actions.
•Ensure organizational membership goals are met in collaboration with the Outreach Manager.
•Ensure all required reporting is accurate and timely and all data is entered on time. Monitor metrics, including participation rates, maintain membership dues, and implement rigorous systems to meet assigned goals associated with these metrics.
•Participates in at least one outreach activity every month.
•Participate in the leadership development committee and identify member leaders to participate in leadership opportunities.
•Lead and coordinate bi-monthly membership meetings and events, such as the annual convention and annual membership drives.
•Excellent Member Services systems and develop relationships with local businesses/organizations to expand membership benefits.
•Oversee the indigenous language mapping project.
•Participates in ongoing leadership training and coaching.
•Leads Membership Drives and staff training.
•Maintains and updates Member profiles.
•Takes Member Payments.

Experience and Qualifications:
•Demonstrated commitment to farmworker and immigrant rights, environmental justice, social justice, and gender justice.
•Bilingual in Spanish and English – and Bicultural with a deep understanding of Latinx communities.
•Fundraising/program/project management experience in the nonprofit sector, preferably with a member-oriented organization.
•Ability to see the big picture, think critically, and have an eye for details.
•Strong project planning, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
•Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to develop and deliver effective communication messages to audiences.
•Must be proficient in G Suite programs such as docs, sheets, calendar, and Gmail.
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and to shift priorities as needed
•Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.
•Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build trust and maintain genuine relationships.
•At least one cycle of competitive field experience.
•Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on empathy and listening.
•Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment.
•Reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
•Ability to work independently and in team settings.
•Interest in and familiarity with the Oregon political landscape.
•Strong coaching skills and abilities.

Hours: 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (40 hours/week), some nights, weekends, and some travel required

Not required, but preferred qualifications:
•Fluency in a Central or South American indigenous language such as Mixteco, Purepecha, or Mam.
•Experience with EveryAction

Salary exempt, $55,000 – $60,000 (DOE)

The position is based in Woodburn, Oregon, and reports to the Organizing Director.
