PCUN Buildings Campaign- 2014

Work brigade

On 03/15/14 we launched an annual campaign to improve and maintain our home base in Woodburn. We well be having work brigades every 2nd Saturday of the month. No special skills are necessary; work clothes, gloves and boots are recommended.

WHY? Since 1980, our movement’s facilities on the 300 block of Young Street have gradually expanded from one small house on a single lot to nearly the whole block, with the union headquarters (“Risberg Hall”), the Radio Movimiento house, the CAPACES Leadership Institute (completed in 2012), several small structures, and, now, a century-old house used as a caretaker’s residence. Over the decades, we’ve sustained a tradition of “work brigades” to maintain, improve, and build our debt free facilities. These brigades bolster our stability and sense of community ownership

How you can help? In adition to volunteering, you can also help by making a contribution to support our efforts. The funds will be used to cover material/supplies costs for improving our buildings, which we estimate to be well over $10,000. Tax-deductible contributions can be made out to the WVLP and either mailed to 300 Young Street, Woodburn, OR 97071 or made online via the Donate portal at
