07 Oct Survey Says: “Lots of scandal, not much progress.”
New Data: Latino Voter Sentiment on Trump Shifts

“Mucho escándalo, poco progreso.”
“Lots of scandal, not much progress.”
This summarizes the recent sentiment of about a quarter of Latinos who supported Trump in 2024, now expressing either disappointment in him (19%) or regret for their vote (8%). According to “PulseCheck” polling done this past July by Equis, many Latino voters who initially supported Trump are feeling disheartened due to unmet expectations on the economy and his overreach on immigration policies.
Why does it matter?
Although we’re seeing increased regret and disillusionment from Latino Trump voters, Latinos overall are still split on their perception of the Democratic Party.
Interestingly, around 38% of Latino voters believe that Democrats could have been more assertive in opposing Trump’s administration. This presents a unique opportunity for progressive leaders to engage and resonate more with Latino communities, addressing the concerns that matter most to them.
Rooted in Solidarity
With 58% of Latinos believing that Trump “is more focused on going after hardworking immigrants than on lowering the cost of living for hardworking people and their families,” it’s evident that the priorities of the people must be recognized and addressed.
